Patient Participation Group

The next PPG meeting is 17th January at 1.30pm via Microsoft Teams

Would you like to have your say on what services The Bell Surgery should offer its patients? Or how and what the surgery should communicate with patients?

The Patient Participation Group (PPG) is looking for new members. We are hoping to increase our diversity and experience with new members adding value to our core team. You don’t need any qualifications or to be of a particular age – all you need is to have a genuine interest in healthcare and making the services offered by the surgery the best they can be. You must however be a registered patient at The Bell Surgery.

Our PPG group is a valuable asset to the practice in facilitating two-way communication between our healthcare professionals and our patients. As a result, the practice aims to improve the quality of decision-making in certain areas, as well as improve communication with our patients.

The Panel is a formal group, comprising not more than 12 registered patients and not more than 8 staff members. It meets four times a year, usually in the evening, with a pre-agreed agenda. Occasionally extraordinary meetings are called to discuss particular topics or initiatives, such as the recent health fair and these may be at lunchtime.  Input and involvement is usually communicated via email or telephone.  The term of office is three years with a maximum of six years.

The chairperson is Janet Waters, who was duly elected at the AGM in March 2013.

We also have an Online Patient Participation Group,  which we are trying to expand so that we can involve and communicate with more patients.  If you are interested in joining either group please see further details on this website or to find out more, please contact the Practice Manager, Louise West. Or if you prefer please complete the online form by clicking on the button shown below.

OR: if you prefer, you can download the sign-up form below, print it out, fill it in, and post it to the Practice, put it through the letterbox, or hand it to a Receptionist.
