Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK. It also helps people who don’t think of themselves as having caring responsibilities to identify as carers and access much-needed support.
This year the theme is ‘Caring About Equality‘ highlighting the inequalities faced by unpaid carers, including a greater risk of poverty, social isolation, poor mental and physical health.
This Carers Week we have a range of events taking place, including an event in Oxford (11th June at Holiday Inn Oxford, OX2 8JD) for carers including guest speakers, information stands and the opportunity to talk to Carers Oxfordshire staff.
If you can make it, please pop 11th June in your diary. We’ll be in touch soon with more information about that and other upcoming events!
Best wishes,
Carers Oxfordshire
