If you are worried that you might have COVID symptoms or questions about self isolating or shielding all the information you need is on the NHS website. If you have any other symptoms or medical concerns the NHS is still there for you to access care safely. You can call the surgery (in hours), 111 (out of hours) or 999 (in emergencies).
Face Coverings or masks will be compulsory from Friday 24th July for adults and children over 11 years old to wear whilst in shops. However, there may be medical reasons why you cannot do so. The government guidance on medical exemptions for face-masks has made it clear that there is no need for a letter or official document to support your medical decision and that you can self declare this to any shop owner or business if questioned. The most important thing you can do to stay safe, protect your family and protect your NHS is to follow Public Health advice to stay alert and keep your distance from other people.
We are continuing to provide a variety of appointments with our GPs and Practice Nurses. Many of these appointments will initially be via telephone or video conference.
If you have a health concern please contact us on 01491 843250 or online via our website using eConsult. The GP or Nurse will do everything they can to help you over the phone. If they feel that you need to come into the surgery for a face to face appointment this will be arranged. You will then be given further instructions by our Reception team before coming to the Surgery.
- Please phone us on your arrival in the car park to check in with reception and stay in your car (where possible) until we invite you into the surgery at the time of your appointment.
- Please wear a face covering. This can be a scarf, mask or any other suitable garment.
- We suggest you use your own loo at home so that you do not need to use the surgery toilets.
- Wash your hands when you return home.
We can no longer accept paper prescription requests. Please request prescriptions via Patient Access or eConsult from our website. If you do not have a Patient Access account you can sign up online at https://www.patientaccess.com/
Safety restrictions due to COVID-19 have been lifted and we can now issue prescriptions with 56 days supply again (excluding controlled drugs). You still need to request your next prescription through Patient Access 7-10 days before you run out of your supply. Your prescription should then be available to collect from the Pharmacy within 3 working days.
Please use our online services as much as you can to keep yourself and our staff safe. If you need help to access or use them please contact us at the surgery and don't worry if you cannot get online, you can still call and we will help you over the phone.
Use Patient Access to request your prescriptions without the need to come to the Surgery or to use paper. Currently due to COVID 19 the online appointment booking is unavailable but you can still phone us if you need to speak to a GP. If you have regular prescriptions please register for Patient Access.
We introduced eConsult in April 2020, it is a system that allows you to complete an interative online form and contact the surgery directly with a query. eConsult can be used to ask a GP or Nurse a question or to ask for help with a prescription query or an administrative matter e.g. letters, copies of records, insurance etc.

Privacy Notice & Summary Care Records Update
When you are register with a GP Practice an electronic record called a Summary Care Record (SCR) is created which includes important information about your health. It provides authorised healthcare staff with faster, secure access to essential information about you.
As a result of COVID 19 a blanket rule has been applied to all our patient records to allow them to be shared with other health care providers and to include additional information automatically. This additional information includes; details of your longterm health conditions, your relevant medical history and any personal or healthcare preferences.
Providing this additional information on your Summary Care Record will help healthcare staff outside of the surgery provide the best possible care to you, should it be needed, at this critical time.
This update to your record will be reviewed once the COVID-19 outbreak is under control.

- Telephone or Video Appointments with a GP
- Urgent & Regular Blood Tests where appropriate
- Childhood immunisations

Local COVID-19 Mutual Aid Groups
Volunteer Groups are up and running in Henley, Binfield Health, Harpsden and Shiplake. To enable residents to stay safe at home local volunteers are there to help with essentials such as shopping and collecting prescriptions.
