This is a charity registered with the Charity Commission 1200727. The charity was set up in October 2022 to receive funds donated by patients and friends of The Bell Surgery.
Thank you for your cooperation throughout the past year as we have endeavoured to maintain patient and staff safety and wellbeing during what continues to be a period of great uncertainty. Patients at the Bell Surgery have shown considerable understanding and forbearance with the adaptations that have been made to deal with the current pressures on Primary Care. Thank you.
Should you or those around you that are registered with us fall ill, the clinicians and staff at the surgery will work to ensure that you receive all the care that is available within the NHS. The NHS endeavours to ensure that practices are equipped with all that they need to provide first line care to their patients; but budgets are limited and the equipment may not always be the most advanced technology available.
The objective of the Trust is to relieve sickness to promote and protect the good health of the patients at the Bell Surgery, by the provision of funds to purchase equipment and services not provided by the NHS and to deliver other support to patients including informal health workshops.
The trust is currently focussed on obtaining funds to:
- Acquire temporary accommodation which will enable additional medical staff to be engaged, which in turn will increase the availability of these staff to engage with our patients.
- Upgrade the waiting rooms IT systems to enable improved communication of the services available via the surgery.
- Provide medical equipment (such as blood pressure monitors) for use by patients at their home.
- Deliver education programmes for residents of the catchment area of Henley-on-Thames on topics such as mental health and cancer.
- Provision of equipment within the surgery to ease the treatment of patients such as electronic beds for patients’ examinations.
The Trust Fund remains dependent upon the generous donations made by patients.
